Volunteer at the Pence
Gallery Guides are community members who donate three hours of their time monthly to greet and inform visitors on the current exhibits on display. Another important task for Gallery Guides is to help with small administrative projects and to record purchases in our Gift Shop.
are volunteers who guide tours to school children (ages 8-18) about the history of art. They encourage active looking and critical thinking skills, and give from 1-4 hours/month. They participate in a brief training session with the Curator, and learn about specific artists or art periods in order to inform their visitors.
No previous experience in art is needed, just a willingness to learn about art, and a love to working with children and youth.
Friends of the Pence
Friends of the Pence are individuals who provide a variety of volunteer assistance to the Gallery. Many volunteers help install artworks, do mailings, or assist at events. Please contact the Pence to offer your assistance today!
Being a volunteer at the Pence Gallery is a pleasant and rewarding way of being involved in the Davis community
and with the art world. The Pence could not have existed for over 30 years without the support of our dedicated volunteers.
Board members help administrate the Gallery and oversee operations. Their terms are two years and Board Members can serve two consecutive terms. If you are interested in becoming a Board member, please contact the Director at the Gallery. Board members meet monthly and work on committees to further the organization’s aims.
