MUSEUM
DIRECTOR/CURATOR
The Pence Gallery is a not-for-profit
community art museum situated in
downtown Davis, California. After 30
years in a small gallery, the Pence is
poised to open a state-of-the-art 5000
square foot facility in early 2005 and
seeks a dynamic museum professional to
steward the thriving organization.
This
full-time position is for an
individual with passion, commitment
and experience in art administration.
It requires someone who can
successfully and efficiently manage
the operation of a small art museum
including development and management
of all exhibits and corresponding
programs; supervision of paid and
volunteer staff; administration of the
day-to-day operations; implementation
and management of information
technology; fundraising and other
revenue generation from private and
public sources; communication with a
dynamic, interested community building
collaborations and partnerships; and
with the Board of Trustees, enact an
overall strategic vision for the
organization.
Qualifications
include an advance degree in museum
studies or museum/non-profit
management as well as 3-5 years
experience in the museum field. Salary
commensurate with education and
experience. Review of applications
