The Pence Gallery invites artists 18 years of age or older from Yolo County and Dixon who did not participate in the November 2006 exhibit to participate in the 17th Annual Community Hang-Up 2. This yearly exhibition, on view in June and July, features artists’ work in a variety of media, including sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, textiles and more.
The Community Hang-Up exhibit brings people together to see the work of their friends, uncovers budding artists who have never exhibited previously, and surprises many that come to see the caliber of displayed work. This exhibit celebrates art by members of our growing artistic community and unveils some exceptional regional talent.
Artists should bring their artwork, fully prepared for installation, to the Pence Gallery on Sunday, May 27, 11:30-4 PM or Tuesday, May 29, 11:30-4 PM. Work should not exceed 30 x 30.” A $20.00 entry fee ($15.00 for Pence members) guarantees the inclusion of one work if space is available. Participation is limited to the first 60 artists on a first come, first serve basis.
We invite you to view the works during the public reception on Friday, June 8th from
6–9 PM. During the Awards Ceremony at 8 PM, one participating artist will receive the Curator’s Choice award, given to an outstanding work of art by the Pence Curator along with a $100 award.
Gallery admission is always free.
