5:15-6 PM, Sharon Bladholm
Sharon Bladholm, one of the exhibit's jurors, leads an illustrated talk about her work as an artist with various scientific expeditions, including her current projects.
6-6:45 PM, Shih-Wen Young
Shih-Wen Young will talk about the selection of work for the current consilience show. Young is a physicist and artist who with Sharon Bladholm, juried the Consilience exhibit.

Statement: Both the elegance and natural flow of mathematics and the power of metaphoric imagery have inspired and informed my on-going series which investigates chaos and order in the universe. The Turkish map fold structure utilized in the artist books was selected as it offers an element of surprise when unfolded, hopefully it leads the viewer to new discoveries.
