Statement: My photos are a series of small explorations of the bay area’s wild spaces, those few remaining patches of land that remain open in a very urban area. These spaces include regional and state parks, national park lands, and even private gardens. As an increasing percentage of the global population lives in urban areas, connecting to nature, which is vital, is becoming increasingly difficult. Through my work I aim to connect people to nature, teach conservation science principles, and propel people to take action to protect our wild places.
