Sharon Bladholm, one of the exhibit's jurors, leads an illustrated talk about her work as an artist with various scientific expeditions, including her current projects.
6-6:45 PM, Shih-Wen Young
Shih-Wen Young will talk about the selection of work for the current consilience show. Young is a physicist and artist who with Sharon Bladholm, juried the Consilience exhibit.

Statement: I am an interdisciplinary, contemporary artist living and working in the Pittsburgh Metro Area. My work has evolved over time as I have as an artist. The majority of my work focuses on the environment, nature or natural elements in the environment. I am also interested in exploring connections; connections between the human body and the environment and the human-to-human connection. I use various mediums including mixed media and a combination of photography, digital imaging, graphic design and oil painting. My most notable work includes photography and graphic art pieces, which are created by using a combination of environmental design, digital imaging and photography. My work has been exhibited in various national and regional exhibitions. I received my formal training at the University of Pittsburgh where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art in 2009. I also hold a MEd from the University of Pittsburgh as well as degrees and certificates in Digital Media, Journalism and English.
